Fort Wayne Men’s Soccer Ties Green Bay 1-1 With 80th Minute Goal

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Fort Wayne men's soccer earned a 1-1 tie (2 OT) with Green Bay on Sunday (Sept. 3) in a non-league game at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
The Mastodons tied the game at one in the 80th minute when Carmelo Morales used a header for his first goal of the season.
Following a scoreless first half, the Phoenix took a 1-0 lead in the 57th minute. Robleh Omar scored from the right side on an assist from Tomer Tloczower.
The 'Dons controlled much of the game by out-shooting the Phoenix 18-6. Fort Wayne out-shot Green Bay 8-0 in extra time with one attempt going off the crossbar and another hitting the post.
Brendan Stangel made two saves for the 'Dons in goal.
Green Bay is now 1-0-2. Fort Wayne is 1-1-2.
The 'Dons return to action on Friday night in a tournament at Dayton. Fort Wayne will play Liberty before a game against Central Arkansas on Sunday.
