Men’s Cross Country Takes Fourth In Season Opener At Butler

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country opened the 2018 campaign on Friday (Aug. 31) at the Butler Twilight. The event was a 6K course held at Northview Church.
Logan Kitchen missed a top 10 performance by one spot, taking 11th (19:31.8). Robert Peck wasn't far behind, grabbing 16th (19:54.9). Sam Williamson turned in a 28th place finish (20:17.8). Alex Barton took 33rd (20:27.4) and Sammy Moran (20:39.6) finished in 41st. Austin Rockstroh (20:59.3) was 50th. Kurt Unger was two spots behind Rockstroh, turning in a time of 21:07.6. Caleb Whitlock was 76th in his collegiate debut (22:35.4).
Butler won the team title with a score of 21.
The Mastodons are next on the course at Michigan State's on Sept. 14.
