MEN'S PREVIEW (8K)
The Mastodons are coming off a fourth place finish at the Butler Twilight Invitational, which opened the 2018 season two weeks ago. The top finisher for Purdue Fort Wayne was Logan Kitchen, who finished ninth with a time of 19:31.8. Not far behind Kitchen was Robert Peck with a time of 19:54.9 (13th). Sam Williamson (22nd, 20:17.8) and Alex Barton (27th, 20:27.4) each earned top 30 finishes to start the 2018 season. Butler's meet was a 6K event, with the 'Dons extending to 8K on Friday at Michigan State.
WOMEN'S PREVIEW (6K)
The Purdue Fort Wayne women's team earned a fifth place finish at the Butler Twilight to start their season. Emma Rafuse finished first overall with a time of 17:17.8 in the 5K. It was a new course record and her second consecutive season opening victory. Earning 17th, Hannah Aschliman ran a time of 19:23.5. The Mastodons had two more runners finish in the top 30 with Rebecca Sippel earning 21st (19:38.9) and Sophia Hirzel earning 29th (20:09.0).
