Barton Sets The Pace For Men’s Cross Country At Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Alex Barton led the Mastodons on Friday (Sept. 14) afternoon at the Auto Owners/Playmakers Spartan Invitational. The junior on the Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country team ran a time of 27:24.6 in the 8K event for 81st place. It was the team's first 8K distance of the season.
Logan Kitchen was 10 spots back in 91st (27:35.6).
Sam Williamson ran a time of 27:59.7 for 106th. Robert Peck earned 108th (28:01.8). Sammy Moran finished in 123rd (28:22.8). Austin Rockstroh earned 131st (28:29.8). Kurt Unger was 146th (28:59.9).
The 'Dons took 14th as a team (350). Michigan State (55) won the event.
Purdue Fort Wayne returns to the course on Sept. 28th at 4 p.m. at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational.
