Scouting Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart is 1-3, with its only win coming over St. Joseph's. The Pioneers have losses to UC San Diego, Stevens Tech and Harvard. The Pioneers' right side Emerson Waumans is leading the team with 3.62 kills per set, and their primary setter Noah Ricchetti is pacing the .220 average with 8.85 assists per set.
Scouting Harvard
Harvard will begin the weekend 1-4, coming off its first win of the season at Sacred Heart. The Crimson will have a match with Ball State before welcoming the Mastodons. Harvard is lead by Erik Johnsson, who averages 2.05 kills per set, followed closely behind by Campbell Schoenfeld at 1.86. The Crimson's setter, Matthew Ctvrtlik leads the team in assists, attack percentage, aces and digs.
Kills For Pelegrin
Pelegrin Vargas leads the Mastodons in kills per set (3.67) and points per set (4.26). He is third in the MIVA in both of those categories. Last season, Vargas led the conference in kills per set through the conclusion of the regular season.
Richie Can Block!
Richie Diedrich has had eight blocks in two matches so far this season, both matched his career-high set against No. 12 George Mason in 2017. This season, the junior had eight blocks at Queens in three sets and at No. 8 Stanford in four. His average of 1.080 per set is sixth in the MIVA. His eight blocks at Queens is the most in the MIVA in a three-set match, and eight at Stanford is the most in the MIVA in a four-set match.
Colton's Weekend at Stanford
Colton Stone was the best offensive option in both of Purdue Fort Wayne's matches at No. 8 Stanford. He averaged 4.29 kills and 5.00 points per set against the Cardinal with 15 kills both nights. Behind his performances, he was awarded the MIVA Offensive Player of the Week, the first of his career.
Just Give Us All of the Players of the Week!
Purdue Fort Wayne has earned four different MIVA Player of the Week honors so far this season. Kolbie Knorr and Michael Keegan picked up Defensive and Co-Offensive respectively after the first week of the season. Richie Diedrich won Defensive after week two, and Colton Stone won the Offensive honor after the Mastodons spent the fourth week of the season at No. 8 Stanford.

Kolbie Knorr is averaging 2.08 digs per set in his career as a Mastodon, which places him in seventh in program history in that category. Scott Mais is sixth on the list, as he averaged 2.33 digs per set over his career in 1984-85. Knorr is third in the MIVA in digs per set this season with an average of 2.27.
Double-Double Threat
Michael Keegan has one double-double this season, which came against No. 12 UC Santa Barbara, but he had eight in 2018. His eight double-doubles tied the most in a single season in the rally scoring era. C.J. Macias had eight in 2006. Keegan's career double-double total is 17, with 12 of them coming on the road.
Moving Up the Rankings
Michael Keegan has 2,851 career assists, putting him in sixth place in program history after passing Colin Lundeen at Queens on January 12. Omar Rivera is next on the list in fifth; he had 2959 assists from 2012-15.
