He is the second Mastodon to receive a monthly honor this year, cross country's Emma Rafuse was named the Female Athlete of the Month in October. The last Mastodon to receive the Male Athlete of the Month for the Summit League was men's basketball's Max Landis in February 2016.
ON JOHN KONCHAR'S PERFORMANCE IN THE NORTH DAKOTA STATE WIN
• John Konchar scored 22 of Purdue Fort Wayne's final 26 points starting with the 5:08 mark of the second half.
• His shot at 5:08 started a stretch of six consecutive made field goals from the floor for Konchar. The streak was only stopped when his deep three at the end of regulation which could have won the game, rimmed out.
• His 38 points were not only a career best but the second most points for a Mastodon in the Division I era (2001-present). Only Max Landis had a better game, scoring 44 at South Dakota on Feb. 4, 2016.

According to sports-reference.com, since 1992-93 John Konchar is only the second player in all of NCAA Division I men's basketball to reach 1,500 points, 1,000 rebounds, 400 assists and 200 steals in a career.
