Lilly Finishes 25th at Dayton Flyer Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio - Mastodon men's golf's Kasey Lilly finished in 25th place with a 82-70-72-224 to lead Purdue Fort Wayne at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Tuesday (Oct. 15).
Lilly led the way with a bogey-free front nine, and a birdie on hole 10. He ended with 15 pars in his final round for his one-over day. Burke Pitz and Eric Brinker tied for 40th with a pair of 230's. Pitz had a 74 on Tuesday and Brinker had a 72. Pitz had a trio of birdies, with two coming on 17 and 18. Brinker had an eagle on hole six and 14 pars en route to his 72(+1). Callahan Elzey carded a 236 overall for a tie for 53rd place, with a 76 on his last round. He brought in two birdies on the day.
Logan Anderson carded a 236 to finish off the team scores with a 75 on his last day for a tie for 61st. He had three birdies in round three. Parker Deakyne shot a 79 in round three with a birdie on his last hole: 13. He played as an individual for the tournament, finishing in a tie for 75th with a 249 overall.
Wright State took home the team crown with a 292-286-295-873 (+21). Purdue Fort Wayne finished ninth as a team with 318-303-293-914, one shot ahead of MAC foe Akron. Jules Blakey of Cleveland State won the two-hole playoff for the individual medalist honor.
Purdue Fort Wayne is done for the fall. Their next tournament will be on February 13 in Palm City, Florida at the UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate.
