FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team will open up Summit League play against the Western Illinois Leathernecks at Macomb on Sunday (Oct. 6) at 2 p.m.

Scouting the Mastodons (4-4-2, 0-0-0 Summit League)
The Mastodons are coming into conference play after coming up short and losing to Morehead State 2-0. Kayla Wisniewski is ranked third in the Summit league for total shots with 28 and has tallied 17 shots on goal thus far. Kendall Quinn and Morgan Reitano are right behind Wisniewski with nine shots on goal apiece.
Scouting the Leathernecks (5-5-1, 1-0-0 Summit League)
Western Illinois is coming off of a 1-0 shutout against conference rival, Omaha. Jenna Lundgren shot the lone goal into the bottom left corner, bypassing Omaha's goalie. The Leathernecks are on a three game winning streak. The streak consists of a 1-0 victory of Chicago State and a 3-2 win against Northern Iowa.

The last time the Mastodons and Leathernecks went head-to-head was in 2018 for the final matchup of the season. The 'Dons walked away victorious with a final score of 2-1. Kayla Wisniewski scored both the goals for Purdue Fort Wayne, one at 41 minutes and the other at 74 minutes.
