Mastodons Host South Dakota State and South Dakota for Final Weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball is set for its final weekend of regular season, as the Mastodons host South Dakota State and South Dakota. Sunday's match will be Senior Day for Elizabeth Fuerst, Sandra Hoevels and Je'Bria Green.

South Dakota State is 6-20, 3-11 Summit League with two matches to go in the season. The Jackrabbits still have a path to earn a bid to the League Tournament, but will have to win out to do so. Makenzie Hennen is leading SDSU with 3.22 kills per set.

South Dakota has clinched the regular season Summit League title, and currently holds a 25-1, 14-0 record. The Coyotes have gone into five sets in League play three times this season, but have won 24 of their last 26 sets. USD will travel to Western Illinois on Friday before coming to Fort Wayne. Libero Anne Rasmussen has a League-best six Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Fighting For Seeding
Purdue Fort Wayne's seed in the Summit League Tournament is yet to be determined at this junture in the season. The Mastodons could go as high as the No. 2 seed, or as low as the No. 4 seed depending on a variety of outcomes including the 'Dons, Denver and Omaha.

Sunday's game against South Dakota will be the Senior Day celebration for Elizabeth Fuerst, Sandra Hoevels and Je'Bria Green.
Sweeping Players of the Week ... Again
Purdue Fort Wayne had a pair of Summit League Player of the Week honors on November 5. Rachael Crucis picked up her second Defensive honor, becoming the only Mastodon freshman to have two weekly honors since joining the League in 2007. Madelyn Wurster earned the Offensive award after averaging 4.00 kills per set and a .469 hitting percentage.

Purdue Fort Wayne is entering the weekend having won 13 out of the last 16 matches. This stretch includes three straight at the Cougar Classic and 10 Summit League wins.
Diggin' Up Everything
Rachael Crucis is currently leading the Summit League with 507 total digs this season. She is ahead of Anne Rasmussen in both categories, who has earned six Summit League Defensive Player of the Week honors.
