Softball Signs Three for 2021 Season

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne softball coach Germaine Fairchild has announced the signing of three student-athletes that will join the program in the fall of 2020: Meagan Mullaney (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame High School), Alyson Quinlan (Johnstown, Ohio/Northridge High School) and Olivia Stinson (Noblesville, Indiana/Fishers High School).
"We are both excited and honored that Alyson Quinlan, Meagan Mullaney and Olivia Stinson have decided to attend Purdue University Fort Wayne and join our Mastodon family," Fairchild said. "Each of them possess personal and athletic talents and attributes that fit perfectly within our culture and system. All three will enhance our effectiveness on both sides of the ball, and contribute positively to our academic performance."
Mullaney is a 5-foot-7 outfielder that bats and throws right-handed that plays in the outfield. In each of her first three years under head coach Julie Joseforsky, Mullaney had a season batting average of over .400. The 2019 team captain and MVP earned a place on the First Team All-Conference and was an All-State Honorable Mention as a junior. She was also a First Team All-Conference selection in 2018, and Second Team in 2017. Off the field, Mullaney also played basketball for two years at Mount Notre Dame, and played AAU ball for the Ohio Hill and Cincinnati Heat Premier. In the classroom, Mullaney worked her way to second honors.
Quinlan is 6-foot right-handed pitcher that also plays first base. She comes from Northridge after earning three letters under head coach Mike Beaver. The 2017 and 2019 All-Conference selection led her team to the sectional title in 2017. Quinlan played club ball with the Licking County Starz, the Ohio Storm and the Ohio Stingrays. With the Stingrays, she led the squad to a top-25 finish in the ASA/USA national tournament. Off the field, Quinlan earned the Distinguished Scholar Award and an academic letter in each of her first three years.
Stinson, who bats lefty and throws right-handed, is a 5-foot-6 outfielder that won four letters under head coach Daren James. She has a career batting average over .400, and is the team leader in stolen bases. The 2019 All-County selection led the Tigers to a sectional, regional and semistate titles. She played club ball for the Indiana Mafia, Indiana Magic, Indiana Dreams and Indiana Shockwaves. With the Shockwaves, Stinson has a batting average of .460, on-base percentage of .492, and has stolen the most bases over the last five years. She led the Shockwaves to multiple tournament championships, while finishing in the top 10 at the National Premier Girls Fastpitch Midwest Tournament and United State Specialty Sports Association Triple Crown. Stinson also played basketball at Fishers.
Mullaney, Quinlan and Stinson will join the Mastodons in the fall of 2020, with their freshman seasons coming in 2021.
