Women's Basketball Heads West for San Diego Thanksgiving Tournament

SAN DIEGO - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball team will head west this Thanksgiving for the San Diego Thanksgiving Tournament, with games on Friday and Saturday. The Mastodons will play Texas Tech on Friday, and Saturday's opponent is to be determined.

San Diego was the previous stop for Purdue Fort Wayne head coach Niecee Nelson. She spent 11 years as the assistant coach for the Toreros before taking her first head coaching job in the Summit City. She worked under current head coach Cindy Fisher all 11 years she was there.

Shayla Sellers had eight steals in the Mastodons' game against Heidelberg, which was the second-most in a game in program history. The most in a game was 10, which was set by Kayla Drake in an overtime win over South Dakota State in 2011.
