Team Effort Lifts Mastodons To 69-33 Win Over Judson

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne limited Judson to 23.1 percent shooting in a 69-33 victory on Tuesday (Dec. 10) evening at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
Jarred Godfrey earned his first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while adding six assists and two steals. Matt Holba finished with a game-high 15 points.
It was all Mastodons from the start. Purdue Fort Wayne led 23-3 after 13 minutes. The 'Dons limited Judson to 1-of-14 from the floor in the stretch and forced 10 turnovers. The 'Dons finished the half leading 37-11. It was the fewest points the Mastodons have allowed in a half since Judson scored 11 in each half against the Mastodons on Nov. 20, 2012. Holba had 13 points in the opening 20 minutes thanks to 4-of-7 shooting.
For the game, Purdue Fort Wayne saw 11 players score. DeMierre Black totaled a career-high 12 points with a pair of steals. Deonte Billups recorded 10 points with six rebounds. Matt Havey scored his first collegiate points by adding three points.
It is the fifth time this season the Mastodons have held an opponent to 60 points or fewer. The last time the 'Dons held an opponent to a sub 30 percent field goal percentage was Nov. 13, 2017 against Kenyon (29.7 percent).
Purdue Fort Wayne improves to 7-6 with the win. The 'Dons are back in action on Saturday (Dec. 14) in a noon start at rival IUPUI.
