Purdue Fort Wayne Softball Announces 2020 Schedule

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne softball head coach Germaine Fairchild announced the 2020 schedule on Wednesday (Dec. 18). The season opens with a tournament at Kennesaw State on February 7.
After the Kennesaw State Tournament, Purdue Fort Wayne will hit up the Troy Tournament on February 16 to play Southeast Missouri, Troy, Southern Miss, Kennesaw State and Eastern Illinois. UT Martin's tournament will follow on February 22, when the 'Dons play a pair against the Skyhawks and two against Horizon League foe Wright State. Southern Illinois' tournament from February 28 to March 1 will feature matchups with Creighton, Northern Kentucky, Murray State and the host Salukis. Tournaments at Austin Peay (March 6-8) and Saint Louis (March 12-14) will round out the docket of tournaments before Summit League play rolls around. The Mastodons will play host to Green Bay on March 18 for a final tuneup.
Summit League play will begin with South Dakota State on March 21. The Mastodons have home series with SDSU (March 21-22), Western Illinois (April 18-19) and South Dakota (April 25-26). They will hit the road for three-game series at Omaha (March 28-29), North Dakota State (April 4-5) and North Dakota (April 10-11).
The 2020 schedule also features midweek games with Ball State (March 28), Butler (April 1) and Western Michigan (April 15). The Cardinals and Broncos will play host to the 'Dons, while the Mastodons will welcome Butler to the Purdue Fort Wayne Softball Field.
The regular season concludes with a doubleheader at Bowling Green on May 3.
The top six in the Summit League's regular season standings will earn berths to the Summit League Tournament, which will take open on May 6.
