FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Coming off eight days of rest, No. 13 George Mason beat No. 15 Purdue Fort Wayne 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-21) on Arnie Ball Court.
The Patriot offense was clicking all night, as they hit .419 on Saturday night (Feb. 9), led by Hayden Wagner's 20 kills and .586 clip.
The Mastodons played through the bench, getting seven kills from Alex Dickmann and two from Austin Neace. Dickmann had five kills in the third set. Tomas Gago had two kills in each set, totaling six with a .455 hitting percentage. Colton Stone contributed four kills on five swings in the first set and added two more in the second.
Frederico Santos and Michael Keegan split the setting duties, finishing the night with 17 and 14 assists respectively. Freshman Troy Gooch picked up four digs in one set of action.
The Mastodons fall to 8-5, but are still 2-0 in the MIVA. George Mason improves to 8-1. The 'Dons are back in action on Friday (Feb. 15) with a match at Loyola, which is currently ranked No. 8 in the AVCA Top 15 Coaches Poll.
