FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The No. 13 Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball team will head to No. 10 Loyola on Wednesday for the MIVA Tournament semifinal in the Gentile Arena.

Scouting Loyola
Loyola has won its last seven matches, including the 3-1 win over Ohio State that brought the Ramblers to the semifinal match. LUC dropped only two MIVA matches this year, and both were to Lewis. The Ramblers have won the last 14 against the Mastodons. They are led by Collin Mahan and Will Tischler, who are both averaging over three kills per set.
All-MIVA Distinctions
Pelegrin Vargas, Michael Keegan and Richie Diedrich all earned All-MIVA honors this season coming off their third-place finish in the MIVA regular season. Vargas and Keegan were selected by conference coaches as First Team selections, while Diedrich earned a place on the Second Team.
Defense Wins
The Mastodons held Lindenwood to -.011 hitting in their MIVA quarterfinal match. This is the lowest hitting percentage against the Mastodons by a conference team since 2004, when Clarke hit -.078.
1,000 Career Kills
Pelegrin Vargas reached 1,000 career kills on the regular season finale at McKendree, when he tied his career-high 25 kills. He is the 19th Mastodon in program history to eclipse the 1,000-kill mark.
Finishing No. 3
Purdue Fort Wayne finished third in the MIVA this season after being picked fifth in the preseason poll. The third-place finish is the best since 2007, when the Mastodons finished second.
In the Top 10 in Program History
There are five Mastodons in the top 10 in program history in a variety of categories. Michael Keegan is third in matches played, fourth in assists, and ninth in digs. Colton Stone is 10th in aces. Austin Neace is fourth in reception percentage, while Pelegrin Vargas is 10th. Lastly, Kolbie Knorr is 10th in digs per set.
Pelegrin Has Done a Little Bit of Everything
Pelegrin Vargas has earned all three Player of the Week honors: MIVA Offensive and Defensive and National Player of the Week. He is the only player in the MIVA to earn all three this season. He is also the first MIVA athlete to earn MIVA Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks since Darryl Shank did in 2011.
Moving Up the Rankings
Michael Keegan has 3,524 career assists, putting him in fourth place in program history after passing Phil Bodine against Saint Francis on March 16. Omar Rivera is third on the list; he had 3,865 assists from 2012-15. He is second in the nation among active players in that category. He trails only Josh Tuaniga of Long Beach State who has 4,429.
