Purdue Fort Wayne Softball Adds Kyndell Ethridge

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Kyndell Ethridge (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North/Wabash Valley College) will join the Purdue Fort Wayne softball program in the fall, head coach Germaine Fairchild has announced.
"We are so excited to welcome Kyndell to the Mastodon Softball family this fall," Fairchild says. "She brings with her a wealth of softball experience, having played for Wabash Valley, one of the strongest NJCAA DI programs in the region, and establishing herself as a standout for the Lady Warriors, athletically and academically. Kyndell will be able to contribute defensively at multiple positions, and will bring a dominant presence to the middle of our offensive line-up."
A 5-4 C/3B, Ethridge hits and throws from the right side. She was First Team All-Region in 2018 at Wabash Valley College. She received the Student-Athlete Academic Award in the Fall of 2017 and 2018, Third Team NJCAA All-Academic and the Chief Executive Officers Academic Honors. In high school, she hit .492 with a .523 OBP. Her senior year, she led the conference with 30 RBI and 14 doubles. She made the SIAC First Team All-Conference, All-Metro Team and Academic All-City all four of her high school years. She was the Strike Zone Player of the Week during her senior year, made the Indiana Elite All-Star Team and also won the Kiwanis Award for three years. Off the field, Ethridge was involved in her school's Student-Athlete Leadership Council.
