Justin Miller Records Nine Strikeouts In Four Innings But ‘Dons Fall

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne and North Dakota State concluded game three of their three-game Summit League series on Sunday (April 7). The contest was halted due to darkness on Saturday.
The 'Dons fell 7-0.
The final four innings of the game played on Sunday saw just one hit combined between the two teams. Justin Miller was effective for the Mastodons on the mound. The freshman went 4.0 innings, recording nine strikeouts and giving up only one hit and no runs.
The Mastodons' best chance in the final four innings came in the ninth when a pair of walks were stranded.
Both starters were the pitchers of record. Ben Smith is now 2-2 after throwing five innings on Saturday. Shane Odzark is 0-6 for the Mastodons have going 5.0 innings.
NDSU improves to 8-14 (6-6 Summit League). Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 5-24 (0-12 Summit League).
The 'Dons return to action on Wednesday (April 10) in 3 p.m. first pitch at Mastodon Field against Bowling Green.
