Mastodons Fall In Season Opener To Marshall

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team opened the 2019 season on Friday (Aug. 30) with a 3-0 setback to Conference USA member Marshall.
The Thundering Herd scored twice in the first half. First it was Milo Yosef scoring, assisted by Joao Souza at the 18 minute mark. Eight minutes later Pedro Dolabella scored with Yosef providing the assist on the tally. Marshall added a goal in the final minute of the game to make the final 3-0.
Blake Cearns and Ryan Bernt finished with shots for the Mastodons. Tor Erik Larsen had seven saves for the 'Dons
Marshall moves to 1-0-0 while the 'Dons are 0-1-0.
The 'Dons are back in action on Sunday (Sept. 1) at 1 p.m. against California Baptist. Kick at the Hefner Soccer Complex is set for 1 p.m. It will be the first ever meeting between the two clubs.
