SCOUTING THE MASTODONS (0-0-0, 0-0-0 Summit)
The Mastodons open the regular season on Friday against Marshall. The 'Dons scored a total of three goals in exhibitions against Indiana Tech and Valparaiso. Three different Mastodons scored each one. Blake Cearns, Jan Schumacher and Alex Frank had the tallies.
SCOUTING THE THUNDERING HERD (0-0-0, 0-0-0 CUSA)
Marshall went 8-9-3 last year and 3-3-2 in Conference USA. The Thundering Herd defeated FIU 2-1 in the CUSA Tournament before falling 2-1 to Kentucky in the semifinals. Jamil Roberts scored five goals with four assists last season, and he is back for his junior season this year.
SCOUTING THE LANCERS (0-0-0, 0-0-0 WAC)
California Baptist will play at IUPUI on Friday (Aug. 30) prior to arriving in Fort Wayne on Sunday for the match. The Lancers tied 1-1 in an exhibition with CSUN on Aug. 24. George Ionascu tied the game at one in the final 15 minutes. CBU managed to outshoot CSUN 8-4, including 5-1 in the second half, while both teams got two shots on goal. The Lancers also had a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks. California Baptist was 9-9-1 (5-6-0 WAC) in their first season of Division I play last year.
SERIES HISTORY VS. MARSHALL
Marshall leads 3-1. Marshall won last season 3-0 in Huntington, W.V. On Sept. 26, 2017 the Mastodons took down Marshall 2-1 at Hefner. Oscar Uyamadu and Romain Lopez had goals in the contest for the 'Dons. The other two contests were 1-0 wins for the Thundering Herd.

PARTY AT THE PITCH
The Mastodons host Belmont on Friday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. The Purdue Fort Wayne women host Valparaiso at 7 p.m. It will be a special day at the Hefner Soccer Complex as it will be the first ever Party At The Pitch with food trucks and food for students. Members of the 1999 men's soccer team will be recognized. Student Activities Board and Student Government Association are co-sponsoring the event.
