FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team picked up a 2-1 victory over Belmont on Friday (Sept. 13) evening. The win came with over 600 fans spilling through the gates of the Hefner Soccer Complex to watch some soccer and partake in food trucks and fun as part of the first ever Party at the Pitch promotion.
Blake Cearns opened the scoring with a goal in the 27th minute. He stole a pass around midfield and drove the rest of the way to get the tally.
It stayed 1-0 until the 58th minute. A handball in the box gave Belmont a penalty kick. Niccolo Dagnoni connected on the penalty kick to make the score 1-1.
But Dagnoni's tally would be the final for the Bruins.
