Men's Cross Country Takes Second at Rumble in the Fort

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country came in second place at the Rumble in the Fort on September 13. The Mastodons beat future Horizon League foe, Wright State.

Top finisher for the 'Dons was Draven Thompson with a sixth place finish and a time of 27:44.70 in the 8K race. Right behind Thompson was junior Sammy Moran in seventh place with a time of 27:47.40.

Continuing in the Top 25 were Robert Peck in 10th (27:56.00), Andrew Whitinger in 13th (28:22.60) and Cory Waldron in 25th (29:24.30). Austin Rockstroh came up right behind Waldron in 26th place and a time of 29:24.70. Weston Miser (31st, 29:32.10), Michael Oliver (33rd, 29:33.30), Husam Saleh (37th, 29:54.40), Karter Tow (38th 29:57.20), Conner Bayne (43rd, 30:35.40) and Alex Barton (45th, 30:47.20) all finished strong for the 'Dons.

Purdue Fort Wayne earned 61 points for the meet, three points ahead of Wright State. Huntington won the event with 52 points total.

Next up for the Mastodons is the Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago, Ill. on September 28 at 10:50 a.m. This will be the first time Purdue Fort Wayne will be competing at Loyola.
