CHICAGO - Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country takes home a third place finish out of 31 teams at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational 8K on Saturday (Sept. 28).

Draven Thompson led the way for the Mastodons at Loyola and came in seventh place out of 274 runners with a PR time of 26:09.36. In the Top 50 for the Mastodons were Sammy Moran in 21st (26:41.40), Andrew Whitinger in 35th (27:04.53), Cory Waldron in 44th (27:15.16) and Robert Peck in 50th (27:20.37). Husam Saleh (68th, 27:40.82), Austin Rockstroh (79th, 27:54.32), Michael Oliver (94th, 28:09.94), Weston Miser (114th, 28:27.79), Karter Tow (120th, 28:31.85) finished up for the 'Dons.

Thompson was not the only Mastodon who finished with a PR. Whitinger, Waldron, Saleh, Oliver, Miser and Tow also recorded PR's for themselves.

The 'Dons earned a total of 137 points at the Invite. The overall winner was Marquette with 49 points.

The Joe Paine Invitational is up next for Purdue Fort Wayne. The Invite will be held at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. on October 4 at 2:30 p.m.
