Alex Frank Scores Again But Mastodons Fall At Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio – Alex Frank scored his fourth goal of the season and third in as many games for Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday (Sept. 24), but the Mastodons dropped a men's soccer contest to Wright State 3-1.
Frank ranks third in the Summit League with four goals. He has matched his total as a freshman last season.
Frank's unassisted goal came in the 32nd minute and gave the Mastodons a lead but Wright State knotted it up a little under three minutes later on a goal by Brayden McNitt. Wright State closed the scoring thanks to Alec Philippe goals in the 40th and 60th minutes.
Wright State improves to 5-2. The 'Dons fall to 3-5. Purdue Fort Wayne opens Summit League play on Saturday (Sept. 28) with a visit to Oral Roberts. It will be an early test for the Mastodons against a Golden Eagles team sitting at 7-1 in non-league play.
