SCOUTING THE MASTODONS (0-2-0, 0-0-0 Summit)
The Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team will return to the Hefner Soccer Complex on Wednesday evening. The 'Dons opened the season with setbacks to Marshall and California Baptist.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS (2-1-0, 0-0-0 Crossroads)
The Knights own wins over Holy Cross (3-0) and Indiana Tech (2-1) on the season. They fell at Martin Methodist 5-1 on Aug. 31. Elijah Zomiger has two goals on the season for the Knights. Kim Schwensen has allowed six goals in 238 minutes this year.
SERIES HISTORY VS. MARIAN
Purdue Fort Wayne leads 3-0. The 'Dons won last season over Marian 5-0. The other two victories were 1-0 in 1981 and 2007. Last season Matthew Lieshout had a hat trick in the contest. Blake Cearns and Ryan Bernt also had goals.
HEY NEWBIE
Newcomers Emil Fosse, Mathias Mikalsen, Zac Bailey and Marc Rodriguez earned their first career starts as a Mastodon in the opening weekend.

The men's soccer roster features 13 international student-athletes.
PARTY AT THE PITCH
The Mastodons host Belmont on Friday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. The Purdue Fort Wayne women host Valparaiso at 7 p.m. It will be a special day at the Hefner Soccer Complex as it will be the first ever Party At The Pitch with food trucks and food for students. Members of the 1999 men's soccer team will be recognized. Student Activities Board and Student Government Association are co-sponsoring the event.
UP NEXT
The 'Dons travel to IUPUI on Sunday (Sept. 8) afternoon for a non-league contest. The 'Dons and Jaguars will return to being league foes next season in the Horizon League. It will be a 1 p.m. start in the Circle City.
