Caetano Ties 36-Hole Program Record on First Day of Golfweek Program Championship

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. - Purdue Fort Wayne's Laura Caetano tied the women's golf 36-hole record on Monday (Sept. 8) with a 72-74-146 at the Golfweek Program Championship at the True Blue Golf Club.
Caetano had 14 pars on the first 18 of her Mastodon career, coupled with two birdies and two bogeys for an even-par 72. Three birdies on the front nine of her second round paved the way for a two-over 74.
As a team, Purdue Fort Wayne is sitting in a tie for 10th place with a team score of 606. The Mastodons finished four spots above Horizon League member UIC.
Holly Anderson was second for the 'Dons, tied for 26th overall. The junior carded a birdie on the back nine of her first 18 and two birdies on the front nine of her second round. She had 25 pars for her 75-75-150.
Kennedy Brooker had one of only three eagles in the field, with a three on the par-five ninth in her second round. She finished her day with a 77-77-154.
Linnzie Richner and Emma Schroeder tied for 56th, shooting a 83-75-158 and 81-77-158, respectively. Richner had four birdies on the day. Schroeder had two birdies in the first 18 and four more on the second 18.
Florida Atlantic leads the field with a team score of 585. High Point's Sarah Kahn is leading the individuals with a four-under 70-70-140.
