Normally for Winning Wednesday we take a look back at some memorable wins for the 'Dons, but for 12 weeks we'll be featuring the best of the best in Mastodon history. Each week, we'll highlight a class of the Mastodon Hall of Fame.
2009 Hall of Fame Class
Julie Hefty Price - Women's Volleyball - All-Great Lakes Valley Conference in 1985, 1986 and 1987 ... Second Team All-American in 1987 ... Helped lead the Mastodons to three GLVC tournament championships and regular season titles ... Holds the single-match record for total blocks with 16 against Lewis in 1984 ... Ranks fourth all-time in blocks per set with 1.14.
Jeff Ptak - Men's Volleyball - MIVA Player of the Year in 2003 and Freshman of the Year in 1999 ... All-America Second Team in 2003 ... Averaged 4.12 kills per set on the 1999 team that earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament ... That team went 23-4 and 12-2 in the MIVA, winning the regular season and MIVA Tournament.
Jeff Richey - Men's Soccer - All-GLVC First Team, All-Midwest Team and All-America Team in 1999 ... Recorded 29 wins for the Mastodons, which is the most in program history by eight ... Also led the 'Dons to 29 shutouts, which is nearly twice as many as the player with the second-most in history ... Recorded the best goals against average in program history with 1.20 ... Now coaches the Mastodons women's soccer and men's soccer programs as a goalkeeper coach.
