Men's Track and Field Sets Three Records at GVSU Big Meet Day Two

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field team closed day two at the GVSU Big Meet with three school records on Saturday (Feb. 15) at the Kelly Family Sports Center at Grand Valley State University.
Braxton Trittipo, Ben Marano, Gabriel Garcia and Connor West competed in the 4x400m relay and set a school record with a time of 3:23.81 and placed third overall. In the distance medley relay, Robert Peck, Ben Marano, Weston Miser and Husam Saleh also beat the school record and had a time of 10:21.64, six seconds faster than the previous record. The distance medley relay finished in 17th place.
Tyneilus Morrow earned the third school record for the day in the 60m dash and clocked in a time of 7.06 for ninth. Braxton Trittipo (23rd, 7.22) and Luke Beehler (28th, 7.27) also ran for the Mastodons in the 60m dash.
Morrow ran in the 200m and placed 11th with a time of 22.63. Gabriel Garcia competed in the 60m hurdles and finished 20th overall with a time of 8.76. Trittipo led the way for Purdue Fort Wayne in the 400m dash and ended the race in eighth place (50.07).
Weston Miser earned 35th in the 800m run and had a time of 1:59.62. Sammy Moran ran in the mile run and placed 25th (4:27.74) and Andrew Whitinger was in the 3000m run and finished in 18th place (8:46.77).
Lane Hawkins ended the high jump in the top five with a mark of 1.91m and was in fourth place. Cain Hohne tied for 11th in the high jump and had a mark of 1.86m. Luke Beehler (7th, 6.46m) and Daniel Tyler (19th, 6.09m) jumped in the long jump for the Mastodons.
Bradon Gulch competed in both shot put and weight throw. In the shot put, Gulch placed sixth and threw the shot put 14.65m. In the weight throw, he had a mark of 12.89m and was in 24th.
Purdue Fort Wayne will host the Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships Presented By U.S. Air Force Special Warfare on Friday (Feb. 28) and Saturday (Feb. 29) at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse. Events will begin on Friday at 9:30 a.m. ET.
