Kasey Lilly Finishes 1-Under at UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate Tournament

PALM CITY, Fla. - Purdue Fort Wayne freshman Kasey Lilly led the Mastodons on Sunday (Feb. 16), as he concluded his final round at the UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate 1-under par with a 215.
Lilly had an eagle on his fourth hole of the day, the 534-yard 13th, to start off 2-under through five holes. His even back nine prefaced an even front nine, which came by way of birdies on holes three and nine. He finished in 20th place with a 68-75-72-215.
Eric Brinker knocked in a birdie on the eighth and 13th to pave the way for his 76. He had 11 pars to finish t-32nd. Brinker ended the weekend with 70-73-76-219.
Burke Pitz birdied 17 and had seven pars on the front nine to shoot an 81 on his final day. He carded a 74-76-81-231, and finished in a tie for 71st.
Jacob Deakyne sank a birdie two on the fourth hole and dropped nine pars on the day to finish in 86th place with a 76-81-81-238.
Callahan Elzey saw a birdie putt drop on 13 as well, and ended his weekend at 73-81-79-233. The senior finished in a tie for 75th place.
Individually, Cody White had a 71-79-85-235 to move into 81st place. Parker Deakyne carded a 79-85-76-240 to finish in a tie for 89th.
As a team, the Mastodons shot 285-305-308-898 for the weekend to take 11th place. Host UNC Greensboro took the team crown with 270-271-282-823 (-41). UCNG's Zack Swanson was the medalist at 200 (-16).
Purdue Fort Wayne has nearly a month before their next tournament. They will head back to Florida to play in the Orlando Invitational, hosted by George Mason in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
