Tyler Kissinger and Jack Lang Earn Summit League Baseball Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Being the only Summit League baseball squad to earn three wins the opening weekend has some perks. This includes picking up both the Pitcher and Player of the Week Awards for the league.
Purdue Fort Wayne senior Tyler Kissinger started and went 6.1 innings shutout innings in an 11-0 victory over Longwood on Saturday to receive Summit League Pitcher of the Week honors. He struck out a career-high eight batters and limited the Lancers to a .136 batting average.
Junior Jack Lang hit .429 with six hits, five RBI and four runs scored to pick up the Player of the Week Award. He had an on-base percentage of .500 thanks to two walks. He also stole two bases. Lang didn't commit a single error in 18 chances at shortstop. He had a career-high three hits in game two and four at Longwood.
The 'Dons averaged 9.25 runs per contest in the four-game series. The Mastodons are 3-1 on the season and travel to Miami (Ohio) this weekend for a three-game set starting Friday.
