FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne men's hoops continues league play on Wednesday (Feb. 5) at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum against the Western Illinois Leathernecks.

Western Illinois has Summit League wins over South Dakota and Denver. The Leathernecks are 1-7 on the road with the one victory being at Ball State 69-62 on Nov. 26. Kobe Webster is averaging a team-best 15.8 points per game. Zion Young is at 14.1 points a contest. No Leatherneck is averaging more than 5.7 rebounds per game.

THE SERIES
The 'Dons lead 18-10, that includes a 10-3 mark at home. WIU's wins in Fort Wayne have come in 2012, 2013 and 2016. The 'Dons took a 77-69 decision in Macomb this season on Jan. 8.

'DONS AND ENDS
• Deonte Billups' 8.1 points per game is the most a Mastodon freshman has averaged since John Konchar averaged 13.0 as a freshman in 2015-16. Worth noting, Konchar was a redshirt freshman in 2015-16 while Billups is a true freshman.
• Seven different Mastodons have scored 100 or more points this season. Only Omaha and South Dakota State in the Summit League also have seven players with 100 or more points this season.
• The Mastodons have a +70 margin in offensive rebounds on the season, owning 255 while giving up only 185.
• In the Mastodons' win over North Dakota on Jan. 30, Marcus DeBerry finished 7-of-8 from three. He made his first seven attempts. He finished with 23 points. His point total and seven 3-pointers set new career highs. The last time a Mastodon made seven 3-pointers in a game was Mo Evans vs. Olivet on Jan. 9, 2017.
• In league games only, the 'Dons are second in rebounding at 35.9 per game and a plus 4.1 margin.
• The 'Dons have recorded double-digit offensive rebounds in 15 games this season. That includes a stretch of nine consecutive games.
• Brian Patrick has 16 games of double-digit points this season.
• Seven different Mastodons have led the team in scoring for a game (Jarred Godfrey, Brian Patrick, Dylan Carl, Marcus DeBerry, Matt Holba, Deonte Billups and DeMierre Black) this season.
• Matt Holba only five turnovers in conference play.
• Deonte Billups has 12 games this season with five or more rebounds, including 10 of his last 13 games. He has three times recorded seven rebounds in a game.

• The Mastodons' 75.0 percent shooting (18-of-24) in the second half against UNLV is the best half of shooting by a Summit League team this season.
• Marcus DeBerry owns 947 points in his career. This total combines his time at Northern Arizona and Purdue Fort Wayne.
• In wins, Jarred Godfrey is averaging 18.6 points per game and shooting 51.0 percent (26-of-51) from three.
• In wins, the 'Dons are giving up 59.4 points per game.

DEFENSE, DEFENSE
• The Mastodons have held six opponents to 60 or fewer points this season.
• The 54 points the Mastodons allowed to Niagara earlier this year is the Mastodons' best defensive effort against a Division I opponent since allowing 51 to UIC on Nov. 18, 2017.
• Against Judson, the Mastodons allowed 11 points in the first half. It was the fewest points the Mastodons have allowed in a half since Judson scored 11 in each half against the Mastodons on Nov. 20, 2012.
• The 'Dons have six games of double-digit steals this season.
• The 'Dons lead the league in steals per game at 6.8. They are second in league games only at 5.7 per contest.
