Mastodons Win Another in South Carolina

Miller (1-1) earned nine strikeouts over 5.0 innings. He gave up just two hits and one run. When he left after five innings the Mastodons were up 7-1. Drew Reich singled in a run in the first to give the 'Dons an early lead. Aaron Chapman knocked in two with a double in the fifth. In between, Lucas Kolovitz knocked in a run in the third, Garett Lake doubled in a run in the fourth and Andrew Lawvere singled in a run in the fifth.
The ninth ended up being almost too exciting for the 'Dons. Jake Frasca hit a 3-run home run for the Pioneers in the inning to make it an 8-7 game. Alex Evenson, however, would get the final three outs and leave the potential tying run at second for the save.
Lake, Mohler, Reich, and Lawvere each had two hits for the 'Dons.
Jack Kramer took the loss for Sacred Heart.
Purdue Fort Wayne improves to 5-9. Sacred Heart falls to 5-7. The 'Dons are at Ball State on Tuesday.
