Men's Cross Country Places Nine in Top 10 at Evansville Invitational

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country team placed nine runners in the top 10 in the men's 8K at the Evansville Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 16.
The Mastodons won the meet with 15 points, with the 'Dons holding each of the top seven spots. For Purdue Fort Wayne, this is their first team win of the season.
The 'Dons were led by Andrew Whitinger, who won the race with a time of 25:52.1. His time at Saturday's meet is good for 10th all-time in the 8K in program history. Whitinger's time of 25:18.3 at the Live In Lou Classic back on Oct. 2 is second in program history.
Behind Whitinger was Draven Thompson in second with a time of 26:11.1, JT Hodges in third with a time of 26:18.4, Nathan Mills in fourth with a time of 26:18.5, Nicholas Mills in fifth with a time of 26:18.9, Kehinde Oladapo in sixth with a time of 26:26.6 (personal record), Husam Saleh in seventh with a time of 26:28, and Kobe Milledge in ninth with a time of 27:15.2 (personal record).
Saturday's race was the final race before the Mastodons head to Carmel, Ind. for the Horizon League Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30. The 'Dons ran at the Northview Church Course earlier this season on Friday, Sept. 10 at the IUPUI Jaguar Invite.
