Mastodons Continue #HLVB Play With Three-Match Weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team will play three matches this weekend, as the Mastodons make the trip to Milwaukee, Green Bay and UIC.

Know Your Foe
• Milwaukee is atop the Horizon League at 15-6, 9-0, and has not lost since September 18 against No. 19 UCLA. The Panthers opened Horizon League play with a 3-1 win over the Mastodons. MKE is led by Ari Miller, who is averaging 3.80 kills per set, and Madi Malone, with 3.27 kills per set.
• Green Bay is 10-11, 5-4 Horizon League, coming off a pair of 3-0 wins over Youngstown State and Robert Morris. The Phoenix took a 3-2 win over the Mastodons to open their league season. Alexandra Zakutney is leading Green Bay with 3.29 kills per set. Calli Gentry, reigning Horizon League Player of the Week is dishing out 10.05 assists per set to pace the GB offense.
• UIC is 10-10, 6-2 in the Horizon League this season, coming off two wins over Youngstown State and Robert Morris. The Flames took down the Mastodons 3-2 earlier this season thanks to 24 kills from Paola Santiago. She is leading the team with 3.51 kills per set. Jaclyn Oblena is averaging 3.64 digs per set to pace the Flames' back line.
No One Has Played More
No Division I institution has played more volleyball than Purdue Fort Wayne this season. The Mastodons have played 88 sets this season. Marshall is second, having played 87 sets.
Nearing 100
Head coach Steve Florio is nearing 100 wins in his career. He is currently sitting at 96 wins since taking over the head coaching duties of the program in 2014.
Leader For a Reason
Katie Crowe has led the Mastodons in kills in all but two matches this season. She has 276 kills, 76 more than the next player on the team: Maggie Castleman. The only matches where Crowe did not lead the team, at No. 9 Purdue and at Robert Morris, Castleman led the team.
Saturday Night Five
The Mastodons have played six five-set matches this season (SIUE, Kent State, Liberty, Green Bay, UIC and Oakland). Purdue Fort Wayne opened Horizon League play with three five-set matches in its first four games.
Double Trouble
Katie Crowe has 11 double-doubles this season, with 56 total in her career. She had three consecutive against SIUE (17k, 10d), Evansville (12k, 11d) and Kent State (13k, 12d). She then got back to her double-double ways with one at Western Michigan with 15 kills and 12 digs. She recorded her 50th double-double against Old Dominion with 21 kills and 10 digs.
