Mastodons Drop #HLVB Contest at Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team fell to the Milwaukee Panthers 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-13) on Thursday night (Oct. 21) in the Klotsche Center.
Milwaukee jumped out to a 13-6 lead in the opening set before the Mastodons got a kill from Madelyn Wurster and Katie Crowe to cut the lead to four. The two squads traded points the rest of the way and Milwaukee took an early 1-0 advantage. Ramei Jackson had four kills on seven attacks in the first set.
The second set was all Panthers, as they went on a 13-3 run. The three points in that stretch came by two kills from Crowe and a block from Wurster and Molly Mirabelli. The third set was similarly advantageous to the home team, but the Panthers got the job done with several smaller runs.
Crowe was the team-leader with 10 kills on 26 swings for a .308 hitting percentage. Milwaukee's Madi Malone had 13 kills with a .385 clip.
Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 5-19, 3-8 Horizon League while Milwaukee improves to 16-6, 10-0. The 'Dons have a quick turnaround, as their next match is tomorrow, Friday, October 22, at 7 p.m. at Green Bay.
