Mastodons Finish Regular Season Against Cleveland State

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team finishes off the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 27 (7 p.m.) against Cleveland State at the Hefner Soccer Complex.

What's at stake?
The top six teams make the Horizon League tournament. Seeds three and four host an on-campus game for the Horizon League quarterfinals on Sunday, Oct. 31. The semifinals and Horizon League championship will be at Milwaukee on Thursday, Nov. 4 and Saturday. Nov. 6.
The Mastodons will clinch a berth in the Horizon League tournament with a win or a tie. With a win, and a Green Bay loss against Milwaukee, the 'Dons can finish as high as the four seed. They would host the Phoenix for a Horizon League quarterfinals game on Sunday at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
With a tie, the 'Dons will secure the fifth seed. In this scenario, if Green Bay loses to Milwaukee, the 'Dons would play Green Bay in Green Bay, Wis. If Green Bay defeats Milwaukee, and Northern Kentucky loses or ties to Wright State, the 'Dons would play against Northern Kentucky in Highland Heights, Ky. If both Green Bay and Northern Kentucky win, or tie its games, the 'Dons would play Green Bay.
If Cleveland State defeats Purdue Fort Wayne, the Vikings clinch the fifth seed, and the 'Dons could potentially fall into a three-way tie for sixth place with Wright State and IUPUI, if both teams wins its respective games. The sixth seed would be determined by tiebreakers in that scenario. If IUPUI loses or ties, regardless of the result against Cleveland State, the 'Dons would clinch a tournament spot.
