Series History
• Purdue Fort Wayne and NKU have met 43 times since 1982, but have only played three times since 2001. The two played 39 matches in the Division II era for both squads, with 17 of them coming in the GLVC. NKU took the last meeting 3-0 in the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational.
• Wright State has a 12-10 advantage in the series history also dating back to 1982. These two teams have only met once as Horizon League foes, a 3-0 win for the Raiders in the league Tournament.
Know Your Foes
• Northern Kentucky is 6-6, 2-1 in the Horizon League with league wins over Wright State, Green Bay and Robert Morris. The Norse beat preseason favorite Wright State in five sets behind 18 kills from Anna Brinkmann and 16 from Reilly Briggs. Their only loss in Horizon League play came to Milwaukee. The Norse are coming off a 3-1 win over Robert Morris. The Norse are led by Brinkmann, who is averaging 4.14 kills per set. Miranda Wucherer is one of two primary setters, but she also plays right side in the 6-2 system. She has two triple-doubles this season.
• Wright State is 10-6 and 2-2 in Horizon League play. The Raiders' season has been highlighted by a 3-2 win over Big Ten foe Michigan State. WSU's first league win was a 3-0 match at Green Bay, in which Callie Martin had 11 kills. The Raiders are coming off a 3-0 win over Youngstown State. Offensively, Wright State spreads out its attack, with five players in starting roles that average between 2.0 and 3.0 points per set. The Raiders will host IUPUI prior to welcoming the 'Dons.
No One Has Played More
No Division I institution has played more volleyball than Purdue Fort Wayne this season. The Mastodons are leading the country with 74 sets played. Marist and Marshall are the next closest, having played 71 sets each.
Leader For a Reason
Katie Crowe has led the Mastodons in kills in all but two matches this season. She has 257 kills, 71 more than the next player on the team: Maggie Castleman. The only matches where Crowe did not lead the team, at No. 9 Purdue and at Robert Morris, Castleman led the team.
Saturday Night Five
The Mastodons have played six five-set matches this season (SIUE, Kent State, Liberty, Green Bay, UIC and Oakland). Purdue Fort Wayne opened Horizon League play with three five-set matches in its first four games.
Double Trouble
Katie Crowe has 10 double-doubles this season, with 55 total in her career. She had three consecutive against SIUE (17k, 10d), Evansville (12k, 11d) and Kent State (13k, 12d). She then got back to her double-double ways with one at Western Michigan with 15 kills and 12 digs. She recorded her 50th double-double against Old Dominion with 21 kills and 10 digs. Most recently, she got a pair of double-doubles at Robert Morris and Youngstown State.
