Gooch, Ibarra Named To Preseason All-MIVA Team

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball athletes Troy Gooch and Vicente Ibarra were named to the 2022 Preseason All-MIVA Team, the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
Gooch, a senior libero from Lancaster, N.Y., was first in the MIVA in digs last season with 2.55 per set. Gooch racked up double-digit digs in nine of the Mastodons' 15 matches in 2021. His play earned him 2021 All-MIVA First Team honors.
Ibarra, a sophomore out of Santiago, Chile, is a key outside hitter returning for the 'Dons. He is one of only two sophomores named to the preseason squad. He leads Mastodon returners in kills (199), kills per set (3.69) and hitting percentage (.260). Ibarra was selected to the All-MIVA Second Team in 2021.
