Baseball Announces 2022 Schedule

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Get ready to plan your spring, the 2022 Purdue Fort Wayne baseball schedule has been released.
The Mastodons will open the 2022 slate Feb. 18-20 with four games at Georgia State. The last time the 'Dons played Georgia State was 2008. The series is the start of four consecutive non-league road trips to open the season. Visits to Cal Baptist, Tennessee Tech and Saint Louis follow. The 'Dons have never played Cal Baptist and last played Tennessee Tech in 2002 and Saint Louis in 2008. Cal Baptist won 40 games in 2021 and earned a share of the regular season title.
The 'Dons will play their first game in Fort Wayne on Wednesday, March 16 when the Dayton Flyers come to Mastodon Field. Two days later the 'Dons will open Horizon League play with a three-game series with Youngstown State March 18-20. It is the second consecutive season the 'Dons will open league play with a home series with Youngstown State.
Other home league games on the schedule include a three-game series with Wright State (April 1-3) and a doubleheader with Northern Kentucky (April 22) followed by a doubleheader with Oakland (April 24) two days later. The 'Dons will host UIC in a three-games series April 29-May 1 before closing out league play at home on May 13 in a doubleheader against the Milwaukee Panthers.
The Purdue Fort Wayne schedule features non-league midweek games at Michigan State (March 23), Valparaiso (March 29), Michigan (April 6), Purdue (April 12), Notre Dame (April 20) and Dayton (May 10). Notre Dame and Michigan were both NCAA regional qualifiers last season.
The 'Dons have a bye in Horizon League play during the final week of the regular season. So instead the 'Dons will host Butler on Wednesday, May 17 and then travel to Akron for a non-league series May 20-21.
The Horizon League Champion will be held May 25-28 at the site of the top seed.
