FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball team will play its final non-league game of 2021-22 on Monday (Dec. 20), when the visiting Indiana State Sycamores come to the Gates Sports Center.

Know Your Foe
Indiana State is 4-6 this year, coming off a 76-50 win over Horizon League member UIC. The Sycamores also have wins over Stephens College, Georgia Southern and Chicago State. ISU has losses to Saint Louis, Eastern Illinois, Western Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Western Michigan and Nebraska. The Sycamores are led by Adrian Folks and Del'Janae Williams, who are both averaging over 10 points per game.

Indiana State has a 3-0 edge over the Mastodons in the all-time series, but the two schools have not played since 2003. The two teams first met in 1983.

The Mastodons have the second-best 3-point shooting percentage in the League at 35.1 percent. This is 56th in the country. The 35.1 percent rate would rank just outside the top 10 in program history. Last season, the 'Dons were last in the league in both 3-point and overall shooting percentage categories.

In a League of Their Own
Purdue Fort Wayne has three of the top 15 scorers in the Horizon League: Sylare Starks (14.7 ppg), Riley Ott (10.8 ppg) and Ryin Ott (10.3 ppg). Purdue Fort Wayne is the only team in the League to have three scorers in the top 15.

Pretty Good From the Line
Purdue Fort Wayne is third in the Horizon League and 36th in the country in free throw percentage. The 'Dons are making 76.5 percent from the line, which ranks in the top five in program history for a season mark. Purdue Fort Wayne has four players shooting over 80 percent from the line, led by Aubrey Stupp, who is averaging 90.0 percent.

Sharp-Shooting 'Dons
Purdue Fort Wayne has five Mastodons shooting over 40 percent from 3-point range with at least seven attempts: Valerie Clark, Ryin Ott, Sylare Starks, Riley Ott and Shayla Sellers. Last year, the Mastodons had no one shoot over 31 percent.

'Dons Against the Fighting Irish
The Mastodons held Notre Dame without a field goal for the first 5:28 of their contest against the Top 25 Fighting Irish on December 12. This was the longest scoring drought that Fighting Irish started a game with since at least the 2018 season (given available records), when Notre Dame won the national championship.

Luck of the Irish
Riley Ott scored a season-high 21 points at No. 22 Notre Dame in the Mastodons' only game against a Power 5 institution this season. Her 21 points were just one shy of a career-high. Ott went 3-of-7 from the 3-point line.

Last Time Out
Purdue Fort Wayne dropped a non-league game to No. 22/23 Notre Dame 78-41. Riley Ott had a season-high 21 points against the Fighting Irish.

Coming Up
The Mastodons will resume Horizon League play on Thursday, December 30, when they visit Youngstown State. After battling with the Penguins, the 'Dons will ring in the New Year at Robert Morris on January 1.
