Four Records and Eight Top Ten Finishes Conclude Gibson Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field team set four new school records and recorded eight top 10 finishes on Saturday (April 17) during the final day of the Gibson Invitational at Indiana State University.
Freshman Austin Dove jumped his way to a mark of 2.00m in the high jump, shattering the previous school record and placing seventh overall. Lane Hawkins claimed the ninth place spot with a mark of 1.95m. Braxton Trittipo was the second Mastodon to break a school record on day three of competition. Trittipo set the school record once again in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.19 and placed 12th overall. In the 110 meter hurdles, Dona Fagnon clocked in at 15.56 and finished in 10th, breaking his previous school record of 15.62. In the 4x400 meter relay, Donaldson, Trittipo, Cory Waldron and Connor West recorded a time of 3:24.23, for another school record and placed sixth.
The 4x100 meter relay squad, made up of Fagnon, Luke Beehler, John Jackman and Ian Bollheimer clinched the first place spot with a time of 43.08. Beehler also competed in the long jump and placed fourth overall with a mark of 6.65m. Brent Donaldson was the only Purdue Fort Wayne representative in the 400 meter hurdles and finished in seventh, recording a time of 57.49. Jarred Neff had the seventh top 10 finish for the Mastodons in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Neff came in eighth place with a time of 10:18.54.
Jackman also made his way to 16th place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.22. Husam Saleh ran to a time of 4:00.78 in the 1500 meter run, finishing in 19th. Kehinde Oladapo was in 22nd (4:01.06) and Andrew Whitinger came in 27th (4:07.59). Weston Miser led the way for the Mastodons in the 800 meter run in 20th place with a time of 1:55.46. Waldron had a time of 1:58.45 (27th), Bryce Taylor ran his way to a time of 1:59.62 (31st) and Oladapo rounded out for Purdue Fort Wayne with a 2:00.38 (33rd) performance.
In the shot put, Tony Ordway threw a mark of 12.42m and earned 16th place. Aaron Martin took the 13th spot in the discus and threw to 42.68m. Asher Walden came in 16th (39.29m), Garrett Anglemeyer placed 18th (39.14m) and Ordway was in 19th (36.74m).
The 'Dons finished the Gibson Invitational with 34 points and placed seventh overall.
Purdue Fort Wayne will head to Rochester, Michigan for the Elaine Leigh Track and Field Invite at Oakland University on Saturday (April 24). The meet will begin at 12 p.m. ET.
