Mastodons Roll Western Illinois 2-0

MACOMB, Ill. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team picked up their second straight road win with a 2-0 victory at Western Illinois on Sunday (Sept. 5).
The 'Dons opened the contest with a pair of first half goals. Alejandro Lopez found the back of the net in the seventh minute on a shot into the lower right portion of the goal. Vukasin Bulatovic had an assist on the score. Ali Nasser scored in the 14th minute to put the 'Dons up 2-0. It was the first goal of the season for both Lopez and Nasser.
Erik Josson made six saves for his second consecutive shutout. As a team the 'Dons have given up only two goals in 365 minutes this season. Josson owns a 0.49 goals against average on the season.
The last time the 'Dons won two straight games away from home was 2018 when the Mastodons won at UTRGV and then defeated Houston Baptist on UTRGV's field.
Purdue Fort Wayne is now 2-2-0 on the season. The 'Dons return to action on Saturday (Sept. 11) at Oakland. It will be the first league game of the season for the Mastodons.
Western Illinois falls to 0-3-0.
