Track & Field Announces 2022-23 Indoor Schedule

FORT WAYNE Ind. - The 2022-23 Purdue Fort Wayne indoor track and field schedule has been released. The highlight of the 2022-23 season will come during the final meet of the season when the Mastodons host the 2023 Horizon League Indoor Championship Feb. 25 and 26 at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse. It will be the second time in three seasons the 'Dons have hosted the Horizon League meet.
The 'Dons will open the season with home fieldhouse advantage on Dec. 2 with the Mastodon Mutlis and the next day with the Mastodon Opener.
Following the opening weekend, the Mastodons will stay close to home as they compete in the Strive for Greatness Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 10 hosted by Indiana Tech. The 'Dons will then make their first trip across state lines to Champaign, Illinois to compete in the Illini Classic on Friday, Jan. 6.
On Saturday, Jan. 14 the 'Dons will compete close to home once again taking part in the Sean Brady Alumni Opener which is hosted by Trine University.
The Mastodons will divide and conquer at both the Mastodon Invite (Jan. 21) as well at the Brant Tolsma Invitational at Liberty University over the weekend of Jan. 19-21. These two invitationals will be the final events for the 'Dons in the month of January.
February starts off strong with another two invitationals on the weekend of Feb. 3 and 4. The Mastodons will take part in both the Meyo invitational hosted by Notre Dame as well as the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic hosted by Bellarmine during this first weekend in February.
The following Friday, Feb. 10, will be another busy weekend for the 'Dons. The Mastodons will be competing at Indiana University at the Hoosier Hills as well as the Big Meet at Grand Valley State University.
The Mastodons will close out the season back at home for the Horizon League Indoor Championships. The women's team finished in fourth place and the men's team finished in sixth place at the 2022 indoor track and field championships which were hosted by Youngstown State University.
