Jon Coffman Becomes Program Leader in Wins

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Anthony Roberts had a game-high 23 points to help Purdue Fort Wayne to a 106-41 victory over Bluffton on Sunday (Nov. 27).
The win was Jon Coffman's 143rd victory with the 'Dons. He is now the program leader in coaching victories, passing Andy Piazza who won 142 games from 1987 to 1996.
Multiple Mastodons filled up the box score with 11 'Dons recording a field goal, including Keaton Dukes earning his first collegiate basket.
Roberts had his best game as a Mastodon. He shot 10-of-12 with 23 points including four rebounds, three steals and two assists. Roberts had four of the Mastodons' eight dunks in the game.
Deonte Billups pitched in 16 points. Damian Chong Qui totaled 13 points and seven assists with five rebounds. Bobby Planutis added 12 points including back-to-back 3-pointers early in the game. JoJo Peterson had 10 points.
The 'Dons shot 62.0 percent (44-of-71). It is only the third time the 'Dons have recorded 44 field goals in a game in the Division I era of the program.
While Bluffton opened the game up 3-0, it would end up being part of a 32-5 stretch for the 'Dons to start the contest. Purdue Fort Wayne led 58-21 at the break thanks to a Roberts alley-oop just before the first half buzzer.
Bluffton shot 27.4 percent (17-of-62) in the game.
The Mastodons improve to 4-3. The 'Dons open league play on Thursday (Dec. 1) when Detroit Mercy comes to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
