Alise Hale Named Horizon League Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Alise Hale of the Purdue Fort Wayne softball team was named the Horizon League Player of the Week the league announced on Tuesday (March 15).
Hale led Purdue Fort Wayne to a 2-0 start to Horizon League play with a pair of wins over UIC. The senior went 3-for-4 (.750) from the plate, which included a double and two home runs. Hale finished the week with three RBIs while slugging 2.500 with an on-base percentage of .833.
Hale helped lead Purdue Fort Wayne to the best batting average (.304) in the opening weekend of league play. Hale has the best OPS (3.333), slugging percentage (2.500) and on-base percentage (.833), and the second-best batting average (.750) and second-most home runs (2) and runs (4) against league foes.
This is Hale's first Player of the Week honor. She is the first Mastodon position player to be named Player of the Week since Demitra Burns was the Summit League Offensive Player of the Week in 2018.
Hale and the Mastodons will be back in action on Friday and Saturday (March 18-19) for three games at Cleveland State. The Vikings are 3-0 in league play with three wins over IUPUI.
