Martin Breaks Two Program Records at Blizzard Buster

Oxford, Ohio – Purdue Fort Wayne men's track & field student athlete Aaron Martin broke two program record in at the Blizzard Buster on Friday, March 18.
Martin broke the record in the shot put with a throw of 13.96 meters, which broke his own record of 13.87 meters he set last week. He also broke the men's discus record at 44.72 meters. The previous discus record was set at 42.83 meters by Ryan Quesenberry back in 2003. Martin finished sixth in the shot put and seventh in the discus.
In track events, Braxton Trittipo was seventh in the men's 200-meter dash (22.88 seconds) and 10th in the 100-meter dash (11.38 seconds), Connor West was 11th in the 400-meter dash (53.55), and Draven Thompson was 11th in the 3,000-meter run (9:05.25).
In field events, Luke Beehler was third in the long jump (6.46 meters), Cain Hohne (1.80 meters) and Austin Dove (1.75 meters) were fifth and seventh in the high jump, Garrett Anglemeyer (13.34 meters) and Carter Lewis (12.56 meters) were eighth and ninth in the shot put, and Anglemeyer (41.75 meters), Martin (41.41 meters) and Zyler Johnson (37.78 meters) were sixth, seventh and 10th in the hammer throw.
The Mastodons will be back in action on Saturday, March 26 to compete in the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor meet, hosted by Cedarville.
