Martin Breaks Shot Put Record for Third Time This Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For the third time this outdoor season, Purdue Fort Wayne men's track & field student-athlete Aaron Martin broke the program record in the men's shot put at the WKU Hilltopper Relays on Friday, April 1.
Martin's throw of 14.71 meters broke his previous record of 13.96 meters, which he set back at the Blizzard Buster on March 18. Martin placed fifth overall in the event.
Luke Beehler (6.62 meters) and Kai Auernheimer (6.08 meters) were third and 18th in the long jump. Austin Dove (1.85 meters) and Lane Hawkins (1.80 meters) were seventh and 10th in the high jump.
Husam Saleh (15:19.21), Draven Thompson (15:26.41), JT Hodges (15:29.21) and Noah Wright (15:56.61) were fifth, sixth, eighth, and 18th.
Garrett Anglemeyer (14.17 meters) and Zyler Johnson (13.58 meters) were ninth and 12th in the shot put. Asher Walden (45.99 meters) and Johnson (45.34 meters) were ninth and 12th in the hammer throw.
Day two of the WKU Hilltopper Relays resumes tomorrow at 9 a.m. with the men's discus.
