FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball team is set to compete in a Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association match against No. 12 Lewis on Thursday, March 24 (7 p.m.) at the Gates Sports Center on Arnie Ball Court.

Know Your Foe
Thursday's match will be the 67th match between the Flyers and the Mastodons. This is the first time the Flyers have played at the Gates Sports Center since March 21, 2019. The 'Dons snapped a 15-match losing streak against the Flyers back on Feb. 24 in Romeoville, Ill.
The Flyers enter the match ranked No. 12 in the AVCA poll. The Flyers are 11-9 overall and 3-5 in the MIVA. Last weekend, the Flyers split two matches against the McKendree Bearcats. They defeated the Bearcats in four sets on March 17 at home and dropped a five set match on the road on March 19.
Offensively, the Flyers are led by Tyler Mitchem. The 6-foot 11-inch middle blocker leads the Flyers in total kills (225), kills per set (3.41), hitting percentage (.477, min. 100 attempts), total blocks (90.0) and blocks per set (1.36). Kevin Lauling and Tyler Morgan have split time at setter. Kauling leads in total assists (491) and assists per set (7.33). Morgan has 265 total assists and averages 4.42 assists per set. Jason Gibbs leads in digs per set (2.15, min. 100 digs).
Receiving Votes
In this week's AVCA poll, the Mastodons received five votes. The 'Dons are one of two MIVA team to receive votes in the poll (McKendree, 12 votes).
MIVA Standings
In the MIVA standings, the Mastodons sit in fourth place. If the season were to end today, the Mastodons would hold the four seed and host five seed Ohio State at the Gates Sports Center on the Arnie Ball court on Saturday, April 16. The MIVA semifinals and finals will be held on April 20 and 23. Each round of matches is played on campus sites.
