Bickel Notches Four Hits in Loss to Wright State

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Jarrett Bickel finished a triple short of the cycle, but the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons fell to the Wright State Raiders 12-3 on Sunday (April 3) afternoon at Mastodon Field.
His four hits are the most in a game for the Mastodon newcomer this season. He finished 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and an RBI. Bickel's home run came in the fourth inning.
One inning did in the 'Dons on Sunday. Purdue Fort Wayne gave up seven unearned runs in the first as the Raiders took a quick lead in the game.
The Mastodons' final two runs came in the ninth. Garret Lake and Brian Erbe each recorded an RBI in the frame.
Senior Justin Miller (0-7) started and took the loss.
The 'Dons finished with three runs, but had a chance for more as they earned a base runner in every inning. Purdue Fort Wayne finished the game with 14 runners left on base, the most in a contest since the 'Dons stranded 14 at Alabama A&M on Feb. 16, 2018.
