Men's Volleyball Set To Host Ohio State

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball team is set to host Ohio State on Thursday, April 7 (7 p.m.) at the Gates Sports Center.

Know Your Foe
Thursday's match will be the 119th between the Buckeyes and Mastodons. The Mastodons have never played an opponent more. Over the last 15 matches, the Buckeyes own a 12-3 record against the 'Dons.
The Buckeyes are 11-13 overall and 5-7 in the MIVA. They have lost seven of their last nine matches, including a six match losing streak. Prior to the stretch, the Buckeyes were on a five match winning streak. They won all five matches in straight sets.
Offensively, the Buckeyes are led by Jacob Pasteur. He leads the Buckeyes in total kills (360), kills per set (3.96) and hits .301. Pastuer is one of two players with over 300 kills on the Buckeyes roster along with Samuel Clark (318 kills, 3.63 kills per set). Noah Platfoot leads in assists per set (10.45). Parker Mikesch leads in digs per set (2.07).
Blackout Thursday
Fans are encouraged to wear black on Thursday as part of a blackout. The Purdue Fort Wayne Athletic Department is partnering with the Destiny Rescue chapter on campus for the blackout. The goal is to raise awareness of Destiny Rescue's cause to end child sexual exploitation and slavery. Furthermore, Destiny Rescue is organizing a cornhole tournament outside of the Gates Sports Center starting at 6 p.m. Students can email: destinyrescue@pfw.edu for more information.
MIVA Standings
This week marks the final two regular season conference matches. The Mastodons currently hold fourth place. Teams who finish first through fourth host a conference quarterfinals match Saturday, April 16. The MIVA semifinals and finals will be held on April 20 and 23. The highest remaining seed from each round hosts the semifinals and finals.
Up Next
The Mastodons host Ball State on Saturday, April 9 (7 p.m.) in the regular season finale. The 'Dons will celebrate senior night and will honor three graduating student-athletes prior to the game.
