Mastodon Softball Season Comes to a Close With 3-1 Loss to NKU

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne softball season ended on Sunday (May 8) with a 3-1 loss to Northern Kentucky.
Gracie Brinkerhoff (2-9) got the ball to start for Purdue Fort Wayne and took the loss. The right-hander went four innings, giving up one run on six hits, allowing no walks and striking out three. Alyson Quinlan came out of the bullpen to throw two scoreless and hitless innings.
Sonia Solis and Brooke Wintlend both recorded doubles in their 1-for-3 outings. Solis had the lone RBI for the Mastodons, which came in the seventh with two outs.
NKU first scored in the second, then extended its lead in the fifth with two more. This was enough to secure the win.
